CMCD's Visual Symbols Library is the world's leading collection of iconographic stock photography. The originator of digital royalty-free stock photography, CMCD was founded over 10 years ago in San Francisco by design pioneer Clement Mok.
The CMCD "picture dictionary" style is built on the idea that crisp, archetypal imagery is a day-to-day tool for communication that informs, instructs, and inspires. The initial selection offered as the Visual Symbols Library is culled from the most popular images from our library of 3500 images originally distributed by PhotoDisc. For nearly ten years, we've been watching and learning from the ways designers search for images. We've put that understanding to work by constantly updating and expanding our collection.
